Hello,
a bit about me:
Originally from the West coast of Sweden, I haven't always been an acupuncturist. After moving to the UK, I graduated in 1982 with a BSc in Land Administration, worked as a Chartered Surveyor and subsequently as a Managing Director for an international retailer.
My personal and professional involvement with healthcare can be traced back to my earliest work experience as a an auxiliary in in children's, geriatric, and end of life wards, which I started on an ad hoc basis when I was 18. When I came in contact with Acupuncture and saw the enormous health benefits of it and became so interested that I felt I had to change my career.
I studied Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Western medicine at the London Academy of Oriental Medicine. Fully qualified, I began working in 1997 and have been a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) in 1998. I have practiced at clinics in Tunbridge Wells, London, Sweden and I have recently opened a new clinic in Perranporth, Cornwall.
I treat both adults, children and babies and have attended a number of courses on paediatric acupuncture in accordance with Julian Scott's paediatric teachings. I have, since qualifying, continuously updated my training in a number of fields of acupuncture. In 2005 I also began to study the ancient art of Chinese Face Reading.
I am a member of the BAcC and therefore adhere to the stringent codes of Safe Practices And Professional Conduct. The code is recognised by the government on a self regulatory basis and meets the need of the general public.
I have appeared on Swedish national radio regularly, discussing acupuncture and health. During my years in Sweden I also worked within the Swedish Acupuncture Council and the ETCMA: a European organisation that promotes educational standards and continuous learning, which I arranged courses and professional conferences for.
